9. Engineers without Borders (EWB) Upcoming Activities

Critical Global Engagement Club | Mondays | 38-226 | 6pm
Part of EWB’s mission is to “empower communities to meet their basic human needs.” This mission is admirable, but what does it look like in practice? What does it mean to empower a community? How can we confront the complex power structures that have inhibited communities from meeting their basic human needs? These questions have no simple, distinct solution. Critical Global Engagement (CGE) Club is partnering with EWB to host discussions and further projects to explore these questions.  Join us Mondays 6:00-7:00 pm in building 38 room 226!

On January 7th we will introduce project lead positions and the EdGE (Education through Global Engagement) course that CGE Club will be offering this quarter.

14. CS+Social Good is Recruiting!

This club is a chapter under the Tech Shift National Organization and modeled off of Stanford's CS+Social Good, as you can see their website here: https://cs4good.com. Basically our goal is to have mixers/general meetings, technical workshops where students can work on impactful projects possibly partnered with local and regional non-profit organizations, and speaker series where influential people will come talk about the intersection between CS+Social Good! We hope to be as intersectional as possible, so this is open to anyone - not just people in the CSC/CPE/SE bubble.
