7. iFixit Security Triathlon | February 27 | 1pm
Join iFixit for a “security triathlon” to learn and compete in software hacking, traditional lockpicking, and tearing down hardware! Gather your team of around 3-5 people and come tackle whatever events interest you most. There are a limited number of slots available for teams, so register early. Don’t have all the skills yourself? That’s ok, you can either team up with someone who does or pick up skills on the fly. You don’t need to be an expert! Each event will have coaches available to help.
Points will be awarded for each activity and high scoring teams will receive prizes at the end of the night. Come out and join iFixit’s engineers and Cal Poly’s cybersecurity director Bill Britton to hone your skills and enjoy a little friendly competition.
Dinner will be provided by iFixit, and after the event we will be streaming the movie Hackers in the office for anyone who would like to stick around.
The event is totally free, but you do need to register for tickets as a team through the Eventbrite link posted below:
https://securitytriathlon.eventbrite.com
Other information can be found on the Eventbrite page. We’d love to see lots of Cal Poly students there!
