Needs Mentors for Fall 2017
The CPE Office is in the
process of recruiting CPE Mentors for this coming Fall 2017. We are looking for
40 - 45 motivated students to mentor the incoming freshmen (as part of their
CPE100 course) during the 2017 fall quarter. We've gotten positive feedback
from students who have participated in the past. And all you need in order to
be a successful mentor is a desire to have fun and help others.

1. IMPACT meets every Tuesday at 6:30 pm at one of the Library 2nd floor fishbowls. Come by if you want to make a difference locally by volunteering in SLO!
2. General Meeting Wed 5/31 - 6-7:30pm B26-103
Come hear about EWB at the United Nations! 8 students attended the UN Science, Technology, and Innovation forum two weeks ago and will be presenting on what took place at the forum, how EWB Cal Poly participated, and what we learned!
Come and support the Malawi team by coming out toBlaze Pizza Wednesday 5-10 pm! Enjoy pizza, hang out with EWB friends, as well as support the Malawi team.Just show the cashier this flyer on your phone! It will be at Blaze on Foothill.
3. EWB Tea Time is every Friday 1-3 pm at the 2nd floor of the Library facing the front, near the bookshelves. Come chat and enjoy some tea with President Dan, VP Beth, and the occasional officer!
Project Expo 2017 will be happening: Friday, June 2nd at 2 PM in the Engineering Plaza near building 192. The all-college Project Expo features more than 200 individual and team projects. The displays and hands-on demonstrations represent the culmination of one to two years of student-led project innovation. Outstanding Student Awards will be given out at 2:00 pm. CEA is a general civil firm that provides consulting services to land development clients primarily for multi-family residential, single-family residential, mixed-use, and apartment developments. Our responsibilities range over the whole project life span, from initial planning and entitlement to preparation of design documents, and ultimately to construction administration and surveying.
Location: San Jose, 5 minutes north of downtown
Job Description: Engineering intern working directly with project managers on a variety of civil engineering tasks. You will have the opportunity to test your wit in the design of components for real projects including: storm water management, utility design and grading. You will also provide important support to our field operations by analyzing data, performing quality control checks, and interacting with contractors.
Ideal Candidate: Motivated individual with solid engineering fundamentals, good communication skills, and an ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Former AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not a necessity.
