Wish 10 Year Anniversary Event!

WISH is coming up on its 10 year anniversary and we want to celebrate it! This
event will include lunch, a past WISH presidents panel, and the opportunity to
talk to Cal Poly WISH alumni and current students. We would love as many alumni

Girl Rising Movie Screening and Fundraiser
Where: Palm
Theatre (Downtown)

WISH is
joining with Women in Business, American Medical Women's Association, Women in
Mathematics, and Society of Women Engineers to watch an inspiring documentary
called Girl Rising! Members of each organization will gather to watch a screening
of Girl Rising, a documentary that chronicles the lives of 9 girls around the
world as they share their story about their fight for equal access to
education. Once the movie over, join us for a brief discussion about the film
and the topics raised. General tickets are only $5 (cheaper than seeing a
regular movie!), and all proceeds for this event will be going to the Girl

Pacheco Code Club Spring Session
Where: Pacheco
Elementary School

Wednesday, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 3-4pm
Once
again, WISH is collaborating with Pacheco Elementary School to host a 4-week
event teaching students how to code with Code.org (a language similar to
Scratch!). 10 volunteers are needed for each session. Rides are provided! This
is a fun and easy way to give back to the community!

1. Sustainability Task Force is a group seeking to enhance Cal Poly's EWB Chapter through working on projects related to social, economic, cross-generational and environmental sustainability. We want to ensure that our chapter is fulfilling its purpose of "equipping leaders to solve some of the world's most pressing challenges". The STF meets at 6pm every Monday in Building 10, room 227 (Local Project Room).
Project Meetings are every Monday at 7pm!

Nicaragua: B53 -0215
Malawi: B180 -0107
Intramural Frisbee starts this Monday at 9:30 pm! Please bring light and dark shirts in order to play!

3. EWB Tea Time is every Friday 1-3 pm at the 2nd floor of the Library facing the front, near the bookshelves. Come chat and enjoy some tea with President Dan, VP Beth, and the occasional officer!
Join EWB Cal Poly at Spring Banquet on May 5th from 7-9 PM to celebrate the year, spend time with your EWB pals, and enjoy delicious Italian food! Slo Do Co catered donuts and coffee will be served while alumni and students share stories about present and past projects and experiences.
- Brewery Crawl - Meet at PAC Circle - 3:00-6:00pm: Traveling to a few local breweries to enjoy some great local beer, and possibly a tour or two if there is a brewmaster available.
- Game Night - Location TBD - 9:00pm: Play cards, board games, charades, and hang out after the brewery tour.
Sunday, May 7
- Beach Day - Pismo Beach - 1:00pm-4:00pm
Meet us at Pismo Beach for an afternoon of games and relaxation. Find us to the left of the pier by the volleyball courts!

-Interested in studying abroad? Take a class with Professor Karen Bangs from Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME), in Bilbao, Spain during July of 2017. Karen will be teaching an Operations Management course (Quality Management, Lean Systems, Product & Service Design, Project Management and a few other topics). This course can fulfill a technical elective requirement for you (if you're ME with general & MfgE concentration, MATE, ENVE, BMED, GENE, COB-IT, MfgE). Job Description: Engineering intern working directly with project managers on a variety of civil engineering tasks. You will have the opportunity to test your wit in the design of components for real projects including: storm water management, utility design and grading. You will also provide important support to our field operations by analyzing data, performing quality control checks, and interacting with contractors.
Ideal Candidate: Motivated individual with solid engineering fundamentals, good communication skills, and an ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Former AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus, but not a necessity.
