3. APP Development Club

We have officially decided our yearly projects! After a tough selection from 18 app ideas, we have chosen the following 4!
CAPTURE THE FLAG - play capture the flag with little more than your friends and their phones. Run around your map and play to win with classic capture the flag rules.
ASSASSIN - based off assassin rules found in several video games, hunt your friend (a.k.a target) via location tracking.
AR HIDE AND SEEK - the classic game of hide and seek with a high tech twist! Find a virtual token hidden among your everyday surroundings using Apple's new ARKit technology Watch out - it's probably hiding in plain (augmented) sight.
WOW MATCH - find the co-leader you always knew you deserved with this handy tool to find a potential WOW co.

In case you couldn't make it this past meeting, no worries! You can always download what our project groups wrote through our public GitHub files so you can always come next week and join us on our app dev adventures! Check the link below to check out what we've been up to!
During our next project meeting on Sunday, October 29thour groups will be developing the first sketches of their app prototypes and planning the first steps in creating their apps. We will also be hosting an Intro to Swift/Xcode Workshop for those new to the language at12:30pm.

While projects Capture the Flag, Assassin, and AR Hide and Seek will be meeting from 11:00am - 2:00pm, WOW Match will be meeting from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

If you're not already a part of a project group, be sure to contact us at calpolyappdev@gmail.com so we can connect you with your preferred group. It is important that you email us because project meeting times can vary.

There will be an interdisciplinary project course next quarter on Biomimicry.  Students will use solutions found in nature to design products that solve climate change problems (e.g., velcro, bullet trains, swimsuits were all designed from nature).    We need students from the sciences and engineering to help on the technical aspects of the project.  Last year a team with students from environmental science, industrial packaging,  marketing, consumer packaging won Honorable mention in the international student competition.

Class meets MW 10-12.  Students can use the class as a senior project or elective.
