14. CubeSat
Lab (PolySat) Software and Electrical Team Applications
The CubeSat/PolySat lab is an on-campus research lab that designs,
builds, and tests scientific small satellites alongside industry partners (like
NASA!).
The software team develops the Linux and C based flight
software that powers our satellite, as well as the ground software that
autonomously operates them. We also develop web apps to assist with satellite
operations, from data analytics to mission scheduling. Additionally, we build
and maintain the lab infrastructure and network security to safely handle
export-controlled data.
Our electrical team designs custom PCBs for use in our
satellites. Tasks include designing schematics, routing layouts, running simulations,
and testing boards across several disciplines of electrical and computer
engineering: computational electronics, sensor technology, power delivery,
serial communication, and wireless communication.
If you love space, embedded software/electronics, board design,
web development, or satellite operations, PolySat would be an awesome
opportunity.
To apply, fill out an application from polysat.org and drop it off in our lab, building 192 room 101. All years and
experience levels welcome! The application deadline is October 12th.
