1. EE/CPE Textbook Bank
This quarter (Winter 2020)
the EE/CPE Diversity, Inclusivity and Equity program will be starting our
library program!
This means that if you are
unable to afford textbooks for any course in the EE or CPE departments, we will
be able to help you. We will also be able to give you access to textbooks for
the quarter, and at the end of the quarter you will be asked to return the
textbooks to be used by students in need.
This program has been
funded through Anritsu and is specifically designed for students who are
struggling financially.

3. CENG CPx Dialog Sessions
The College of Engineering
invites you to attend a dialog session about the results of the CPx survey
conducted last spring.
CENG Dialogue #2 –
Creating Community and Tracking Progress
Friday, February 14,
1:00pm-3:00pm in ATL (building 007)
These workshop-style events
are intended to help us collectively process the results from the CPx survey
and generate ideas on how we can take action to foster a more just, equitable,
diverse and inclusive college community. The ideas generated as part of these
listening sessions will be incorporated into the College of Engineering
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plan and will hold us
accountable to each other. The session is open to all members of the college
community. While we encourage you to attend both sessions, we understand that
some may only be able to attend one.

4. Roborodentia 2020
Roborodentia 2020 is
here! Roborodentia is Cal Poly's annual
robotics competition held in the Spring quarter. This is a competition of autonomous robots
where the winner receives a prize of $1,000.

Prof. Seng is looking for volunteers to help out with the labelling of training

6. 2020 AISES Leadership Summit
Hosted by the American
Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), this popular event is designed
for students from high school through postdoctoral-as well as emerging and
mature professionals-who want to develop their ability to lead with confidence
and find the leader within!
We highly encourage
college students to join us for two and a half days of learning and connection
to academic, tribal, and nonprofit leaders, as well as industry experts, at the
2020 Leadership Summit.
This year’s Leadership
Summit will be held at the Pechanga Casino and Resort in Temecula,
California from February 16-18, 2020.
We have attached a few

Monthly Mentors Middle School Program
Monthly Mentors is one of Society of Women Engineer's newer
outreach events and takes place throughout the year! The goal of this program
is to bring monthly hands-on engineering activities to students in surrounding
communities who may not have the resources to support a strong STEM curriculum.

11. 2020 Panetta Institute Congressional Internship Program
Applications are now being
accepted for the 2020 Panetta Institute Congressional Internship
Program. In its 22nd year, this prestigious program is
designed to encourage and develop future leaders as well as prepare individuals
for greater civic involvement. Cal Poly has been participating in this
program since 2001 and our past interns consistently agree that this internship
was a meaningful experience.
This opportunity is fully
funded and is open to qualified students from ANY major who
have an interest in Congress, civil leadership or public service. Attached is a

12. SAE CyberAuto Challenge—Summer 2020
Calling all students interested in Automotive CyberSecurity! In its ninth year, the 2020 SAE CyberAuto
Challenge™ brings aspiring students to participate in hands-on experiences and
learn from the best cyber researchers, hackers, automotive engineers, and
academia partnered with industry in order to advance the next generation of
cyber security specialists. Acceptance to CAC is merit based so you will need
to apply. As a participant in the CyberAuto Challenge you
will take part in an intensive 4.5-day practicum-based workshop in Warren,
Michigan during Summer 2020.

opportunities in a welcoming environment. All students are encouraged to engage
in free individual and small-group tutoring sessions with trained undergraduate

Pasulka Lab
Are
you looking for a way to apply your computer science/coding skills to
collecting data for biological research? Interested in a potential opportunity
to be involved in a publication in a peer-reviewed journal? The Pasulka Lab is
looking for a student proficient in Matlab to help with the continued
development of a program (and GUI) for the analysis of epifluorescence microscopy
images. This student will engage with scientists collecting data for ecological

San Diego
Nanotechnology Infrastructure (SDNI) is hosting a
ten-week Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at UC San Diego. In this
program, students are paired with leading researchers in science and
